Abu-Ghazaleh Expresses Gratitude to the Libyan Audit Bureau for Choosing IASCA to Enhance Professional Capabilities of Its Staff
AMMAN - The Libyan Audit Bureau (LAB), represented by its Undersecretary Mr. Alaa Ad Deen Al Maslati, concluded an intensive training course in the Jordanian capital, Amman, aimed at obtaining the professional certification in financial auditing. Mr. Al Maslati participated in the event alongside Professor Ahmed Al Banuni, the Libyan Cultural Attaché in Jordan.
This project highlights LAB’s dedication to enhancing the professional skills of its staff. It marks a significant milestone in the Bureau's efforts and plays a crucial role in protecting and advancing the progress of the Libyan people.
During an honorary ceremony, certificates for Certified Financial Auditors were awarded to attendees from the second group of financial auditors. The event was attended by the Libyan Cultural Attaché from the Libyan Embassy and the Executive Director of the International Arab Society of Certified Accountants (IASCA), Mr. Salem Al-Ouri.
In his speech at the ceremony, LAB’s Undersecretary highlighted the importance of the training program in enhancing and supporting the professional capabilities of the LAB auditors. He emphasized how this development would positively affect the quality of financial control work and help achieve the Bureau's objectives.
From his side, Mr. Al-Ouri emphasized that the relationship between three entities LAB, IASCA, and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has embraced collaboration and integration to support the Bureau’s efforts in safeguarding Libyan public funds and ensuring their protection.
This course was organized as part of the cooperation and partnership agreement between the LAB and the USAID, and was conducted by IASCA in accordance with INTOSAI standards.
The participants completed 120 hours of online training, followed by 40 hours of intensive in-person training, culminating in the awarding of professional certificates.
This program aims to offer a series of training courses designed to enhance the knowledge and skills of financial auditors in areas such as financial control, performance, and discipline.
The Libyan Audit Bureau is Libya's highest authority for financial oversight and accounting. Functioning as an independent and impartial professional entity with legal autonomy and financial accountability, its core objective is to ensure the effective oversight of public funds and verify their appropriate utilization. This is achieved by examining and scrutinizing accounts and assessing the performance of all entities under its supervision.
