Abu-Ghazaleh Extends Gratitude to IFAC for Praising the Role of IASCA in the Translation of International Standards

04-Feb-2014

AMMAN-----February 3, 2014----- The International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) has published in its December-January 2014 bulletin an article that highlights the valuable contributions and strategic role of the International Arab Society of Certified Accountants (IASCA) Jordan in translating the materials issued by the IAASB, IESBA and IPSASB into Arabic Language.

To achieve IFAC's vision of reaching an international audience, IFAC and the independent standard-setting boards rely on IFAC member bodies and others to translate standards and publications to enhance adoption and implementation and support of professional accountants.

IFAC indicated that IASCA has committed time and resources to translate and continue to keep up with the latest specialized standards on auditing, quality control, code of ethics and public sector standards since 2001, which gave it the credibility and necessary expertise to be the strategic partner in the Middle East and the specialized expert on the translated material.

In addition to the translation process, IASCA has hosted many different educational events related to auditing and IPSAS standards including: (a) a seminar on the IPSAS to encourage adoption in Jordan; (b) an auditing and control training course in cooperation with the Jordan Audit Bureau attended by 162 trainees from the public sector; (c) a joint introductory training course on risk-based auditing held in cooperation with the UAE Accountants and Auditors Association. Recently, IASCA participated in the Middle East and North Africa regional seminar on “the role training plays in accounting reform”.

IASCA has previously received appreciation and gratitude from the IFRS Foundation for facilitating and funding the translation of the international standards into Arabic.
It is worth mentioning that IASCA prepares the translation through Talal Abu- Ghazaleh Translation, Distribution and Publishing, which is one of the pioneering companies in this field and the strategic partner of IASCA in the field of translating the international standards.
