Mr. Hamid Mamdouh – Board Member
Mr. Hamid Mamdouh is the Director of the Trade in Services division of the World Trade Organization (WTO), which is part of the Organization responsible for servicing the WTO Council for Trade in Services which oversees the implementation of the General Agreement of Trade in Services (GATS). Prior to this position he served as a senior counsellor in the Services Division, and Secretary of the WTO Council for Trade in Services during which his responsibilities included legal matters relating to the drafting of the General Agreement on Trade in Services (GATS). Other prior posts include Assistant to Deputy Director-General of the GATT and legal advisor on GATT dispute settlement, as well as a member of Diplomatic Service of Egypt. Mr. Mamdouh also lectures in law post-graduate programmes in the University of Zurich, Switzerland, as well as the Law School at the University of Amsterdam.
